SOS Fundraiser 2005
The SOS fundraiser for 2005 will be held the weekend of April 8, 9, and 10, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in conjunction with the grand opening of The Shooting Gallery Wildlife Museum at Rainbow's End Bed & Breakfast, Challis, Idaho. The events include: a marksmanship competition to be held over the three days with prizes; an exhibit of fish carvings by master carver Ed Walicki; an exhibit of John Harris' Winchester and Colt firearms collection; drawings for the Winchester SOS commemorative knife set and custom-made muzzleloader from Rob Bradley of Lone Pine Rifleworks to be held April 10.
All monies raised at this event will be used for scholarships for local students and to support student activities which are not funded by state or federal funds.
Make a donation to SOS and test your skills at our 1914 Smith-H.C. Evans Carnival Shooting Gallery. We are challenging marksmen to beat Winchester trick shooter Ad Topperwein's target shooting world record. Compete to be named the SOS Marksman of the Year and have your name engraved on a perpetual trophy to be displayed at Mad Dog Gallery. The first marksman to hit every target consecutively without a miss wins the Grand Prize of $5,000 cash donated by Rainbow's End Bed & Breakfast. Gun clubs, such as 4-H and NRA are invited; a prize will be given to the gun club with the highest total score. Other prizes include a .22 pump rifle, SOS limited edition pocket knives with scrimshaw engraving of a Winchester Model 62 .22 caliber gallery rifle, Winchester 1 and 2 blade rifle or shotgun commemorative knives, and King's Outdoor World Desert Shadow Camo hats.
Bring your fishing pole and compete in a Fishing Derby in our pond stocked with monsters from 2 to 15 pounds. Whoever catches the biggest fish wins a new custom fishing pole. Prizes will be given for tagged fish. Participation is free; donations to SOS would be appreciated. Limit is 10 fish per person.
Other events include basketball competitions, horseshoe toss contests, and tug of war. More information to follow.
